This is Sophie Levine her upbringing was deeply influenced by her uncle Bobby, who, being on the autism spectrum, exemplified a remarkable outlook, emphasizing his strengths over any limitations. Bobby's positive presence and inspirational character profoundly impacted Sophie. Observing Elana's interactions with Bobby, Sophie admired how Elana's support significantly enhanced Bobby's social engagement and autonomy, including socializing, traveling, and leading an independent life.
Driven by a desire to serve, Sophie's interest grew in working with individuals on the autism spectrum. Additionally, she has dedicated two years to facilitating grief support groups at Our House, drawing from her own encounters with loss to assist others in navigating their sorrow and rediscovering happiness post-tragedy. Currently, Sophie is advancing her education, pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on trauma, furthering her commitment to aid those coping with psychological distress.
Sophie's philanthropic endeavors were further influenced by her mother, Linda, whose extensive work with Jewish Family Services was a testament to community service. Linda organized an annual event that was a beacon of hope for underprivileged girls, offering them an opportunity to select a prom dress, bag, and jewelry at no cost. This event was more than a charitable gesture; it was an empowering moment that allowed these young women to experience joy and normalcy during a significant milestone in their lives. Sophie's varied experiences in giving back to the community have undoubtedly shaped her path and fueled her passion for making a difference in the lives of those around her.
